We are out on Vassampallam Road in Ottuppattarai. It’s a bit quieter out here compared to the city centers, which suits us just fine. L R Milk Products is a local business and we’ve been part of this area for quite a stretch. Our days start very early, usually before the sun is even up. That is just the nature of working with milk and dairy. You have to be ready when the collectors come in. The building is simple and we keep it clean. There is a lot of routine involved in what we do. Testing, bottling, and moving crates is the bulk of the day. We don't have any big corporate slogans. We just focus on getting the products out to the people who need them. Ottuppattarai is a place where everyone knows everyone. Our neighbors often stop by just to say hello or pick something up. It feels more like a family than a company sometimes. The road outside can get a bit muddy during the rains but we don't mind. We have our small team and we work well together. Some of us have been here since the beginning. It’s hard work and your back might ache by the evening, but it’s honest. We take pride in the fact that we’ve stayed local and haven't tried to become some huge faceless entity. It works for us.
