Our shop is at 78, Ooty Main Road, right here in Coonoor. Being on the main road means we see a lot of travelers and locals every single day. Coonoor is famous for its tea, so there’s a lot of competition, but we just stick to our own way of doing things. We handle the agency side of things, which means we move quite a bit of stock through our doors. The building is older, but it serves its purpose well. We don't have any corporate slogans or big mission statements hanging on the walls. We just have shelves and crates of tea. Sometimes the fog rolls in so thick you can barely see the road, but we stay open anyway. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you’ll usually find one of us behind the counter or out back checking the latest delivery. We like talking to the drivers who bring the tea down from the estates. They always have stories about the weather up higher. We don't spend money on fancy marketing because the tea we get is good enough to speak for itself. If you're driving toward Ooty, you'll pass right by us. We’ve been in this same spot for years and haven't seen a reason to change much. We just keep the tea coming in and going out to our regular customers. It is a good way to spend the day for us.
