Troyee-Bandhu Nidhi Limited is over here in Cooch Behar at Sateyndra Talukdar’s place in D.K Kuthipundibari. We started this because people in our neighborhood needed a spot to handle their small savings without traveling too far. It isn't a huge office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a room where we keep our files and sit with anyone who drops by. Most mornings start with a cup of tea while we look over the registers. Sateyndra has lived here a long time, so everyone knows the address. The walk to the office is pretty nice when the weather isn't too humid. We spend a lot of time explaining how things work to folks who are wary of big banks. Sometimes the paperwork takes a bit longer because we like to double-check everything by hand. It keeps things honest. We don’t have fancy software that does everything for us. People come in, sit on the bench, and talk about their day before getting to the business part. It’s a bit slow-paced, but that’s how we like it around here. Pundibari is a quiet place and we try to keep the office feeling the same way. We aren't trying to change the world, just helping out where we can. If you walk past the main road, you'll see our sign. It’s nothing special, just a place for the community to keep their money safe.
