Ohid Food India Private Limited

Our place of work is in West Golanawhati, which is a small spot in the Koch Bihar district. We are set up at Ohidul Miah’s residence, and Abu Hossain is the person who looks after the day-to-day things. We are involved with food products, mostly dealing with the local harvest and making sure it gets processed. The area is very green and there are plenty of trees around the house. It is not like a factory in a big city. We have a small area where we sort through the produce. We do not have any fancy machines that do all the work for us. Most of it is done by hand. We sit on low stools and check the quality of everything that comes through. The roads are just dirt tracks in some places, so we have to be careful when the rain starts. We do not have a big office or a sign with lights. People just know where Ohidul’s house is. We work in the daylight mostly because the electricity can be a bit shaky in the evenings. We do not have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy emails. We just talk to the farmers and the local buyers. It is a simple way to run a business. We focus on the food and nothing else. We are just a small part of this village.
