Jaldapara Hari Shankar Tea Industries Private Limited

We are located over in Uttar Madarihat, right in the Alipurduar district. Jaldapara Hari Shankar Tea Industries is basically run out of Swapan Das’s place in Meghnath Saha Nagar. It is not some giant glass building or anything fancy like that. Most days start early because the tea business doesn't really wait for anyone. We spend a lot of time dealing with the leaves and making sure everything is moving along correctly. The weather here can be a bit much sometimes, especially when the rains come down hard in the north part of Bengal, but we just keep at it. People around here know where we are. It’s a busy spot. We handle the daily operations ourselves, from checking the loads to making sure the paperwork is sorted out on the old desk. It’s a lot of manual work and staying on your feet. Some people might find the smell of raw tea strong, but we have gotten used to it over the years. We don’t have a big marketing team or people in suits walking around. It’s just us trying to get the work done and making sure the business stays afloat. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait it out, but that’s just life in Madarihat. We just focus on the tea and the day-to-day tasks that need finishing before the sun goes down. It is a simple setup but it works for what we do here in our corner of Alipurduar.
