Reliable Plastics

Our factory, Reliable Plastics, is located within the W.B.I.I.D.C. Growth Centre, right near the post office. Being in a growth center means we are surrounded by other industrial units and a lot of heavy activity. The smell of melting plastic is pretty much part of the furniture here. We have several machines running throughout the shift, and it can get quite hot and humid inside the shed. Our address near the post office makes it easy for our mail and smaller shipments to reach us, though the heavy trucks use the main gates of the center. We don't have a fancy office suite. Our office is just a partitioned corner of the factory floor with a couple of old desks and a filing cabinet that’s seen better days. We focus on getting the production numbers right and making sure the machines don't break down in the middle of a run. It’s a lot of manual work, checking the molds and packing the finished items into sacks. The staff here are mostly locals who have been with us since we moved into the WBIIDC area. We don't go in for big marketing meetings or corporate strategy sessions. We just look at the orders we have for the week and try to get them finished on time. The floor is always busy, and there’s always someone moving a pallet or checking a temperature gauge. It’s a gritty, hardworking environment, and that’s exactly how we like it.
