7Starnishiganj Rural Micro Foundation

We operate out of Nishiganj in the Cooch Behar district. Specifically, we are over in the Chakiar Chhara area. It is a place where everyone knows each other, and news travels by word of mouth more than anything else. 7Starnishiganj Rural Micro Foundation is not some big institution from the city. We are just a small group working out of a modest space here. Our days are mostly filled with meeting local people and talking about small ways to make life a bit easier. The weather can get quite humid, and we spend a lot of time just dealing with the basics. There are no fancy suits or shiny offices here. Usually, it is just us with some ledgers and a lot of tea. We started this because we live here and we saw that people needed a local point of contact for small matters. It is a rural life, so we understand the problems that come with it. We do not try to impress anyone with big talk. We just show up, open the doors, and see who needs help that day. Sometimes we stay late when there is a lot to do, and other days are quiet. It is just the natural rhythm of a small town. We are part of the community, and we plan to stay that way. It is just honest, local work without any of the corporate fluff that you see in the cities.
