About Srijani College Of Visual & Performing Arts – Art & Craft in Cooch Behar
Our place, Srijani College Of Visual & Performing Arts, is situated on H.N. Road in Koch Bihar. If you walk down the road, you’ll see our sign. It is usually a bit messy inside because we have people painting and practicing music all day long. That is just how an art college looks, I guess. We have different rooms for different things, like some for instruments and others for canvases. The weather here in West Bengal can get quite humid, so we often have the windows open to catch a breeze while the students are working. We aren't a big corporate office; it’s more like a group of people who really enjoy what they do. We spend a lot of time cleaning up brushes or moving chairs around for performances. People from all over the district come here to study. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough space for all the ideas people have, but we make it work. The staff here mostly lives nearby, so we all walk or bike to work on H.N. Road. It is a quiet enough spot, but inside the building, there is always some kind of noise, whether it's a song or someone talking about a project. We just focus on the day-to-day stuff, making sure there are enough supplies and that the schedule stays mostly on track for everyone. It is a practical way to run a school for the arts without making things too complicated.
