About Jaiswal Masala – Food & Beverages in Cooch Behar
My family has been doing this for a while here in Ward No-10. We are right near the Beli Bazar. It gets busy during the market days but we like it. We mostly focus on grinding spices. It's a small place. Sometimes the dust from the chili gets in your nose. We started Jaiswal Masala because there was a need for good powders in Alipurduar. We don't have a big factory or anything fancy. Just some machines and our hands. People from around here come by when they need stuff for their cooking. We try to keep things clean but it's a working shop. The weather gets very humid here so we have to be careful with storage. We spend a lot of time sorting through bags. It isn't easy work. My cousins help out too. We don't spend money on ads. Word of mouth is how people find us. Usually, they just walk over from the market. We've been at this address for years now. The neighborhood has changed a bit, more shops now. We keep our prices fair because we know our neighbors. If you're looking for us, look for the sign near the bazar. It’s a bit faded but it’s there. We just do our work every day and go home. That's about it really. We aren't trying to be huge, just steady. The machines are old and make noise, but they work well for grinding spices. We have a few fans to keep the air moving, though it doesn't help much in the heat. We stack the sacks against the back wall to keep them off the floor and away from any dampness.
