The Sana Beach Resorts

You can find us down in Mandarmoni, right in the East Medinipur area. We are set up pretty close to the water. The beach here is very wide and the sand is quite hard, so you see cars driving on it sometimes. Our place isn't like those giant hotels in the big cities. It’s more spread out and humble. We spend a lot of our time cleaning up sand because it gets into everything when the wind blows off the bay. The salt in the air tends to rust the metal railings, so we are always painting something or fixing a door hinge. The rooms are simple and we try to keep things quiet for the people who come down here. In the evenings, you can hear the waves really clearly if the wind is right. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who live nearby and help out. Some days the tide comes up real close to the edge of the property. It’s a lot of work keeping a place like this running, especially during the rainy season when the clouds get really dark over the ocean. We mostly just focus on making sure the beds are made and the food is hot. It’s a peaceful spot if you don’t mind a bit of salt and sun.
