SAHOO AGARBATTI

If you ever find yourself at the Central Bus Stand in Purba Midnapur, you’ve probably walked past us. SAHOO AGARBATTI has been right here in the middle of all that noise and dust for quite some time. It’s a loud spot with buses coming and going at all hours, but we’ve gotten used to the sound of engines and people shouting for their rides. We spend our days surrounded by the sticks we make. The air in our shop always smells like sandalwood or jasmine, which is a nice change from the diesel fumes outside. We aren't a giant factory. It’s just a handful of us sitting together, working with our hands. Sometimes our hands get stained and the floor is covered in dust, but that's part of the job. We don't have fancy uniforms or a polished office. It’s just a small space packed with supplies. People stop in while they’re waiting for their bus to grab a few packs. We chat with them for a minute and then they’re off to wherever they are going. It’s a busy life here at the bus stand. We try to keep up with the demand, though sometimes we run out of certain scents before the week is over. We just keep at it, day in and day out, making sure there’s enough for whoever walks through the door next.
