Luthra Motors

Luthra Motors. Our shop is over on J. P. Avenue in the Sagarbhanga area. It’s near the Coke Oven police station in Burdwan. It’s a bit of a distance from the main city center, which makes it a little quieter than some of the other places I’ve worked at. We focus on motors and vehicles. The workshop has big open doors so we can get the trucks and cars in and out easily. The floor is concrete and has plenty of cracks in it. We have a few tool chests that are overflowing with wrenches and screwdrivers. It feels like we are always looking for a 10mm socket that someone misplaced. The air is often thick with the sound of engines idling or someone using an impact wrench. We don't have a fancy waiting room with coffee. If you wait here, you’re probably sitting on a plastic chair near the entrance. Most of us live nearby, so we know a lot of the people who come in. We’ve seen kids grow up and start driving their own cars here. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a shiny office. We just want to fix what’s broken and get it back on the road. The weather out here can be tough, either really dusty or really muddy when it rains. We just mop the floor and keep going. It’s honest work and it keeps us out of trouble.
