Our spot is right in Arul Complex, specifically at 500/1 near the Miller Stop. If you know P.N. Road, you know it gets pretty packed with traffic during the rush hours. We spend a lot of our time inside the unit at Visual Apparel Inc, mostly just dealing with the daily flow of garments and thread. The stairs up to the complex can be a bit steep when you’re carrying a heavy load, but we’ve gotten used to the climb. It’s a bit noisy because of the main road right outside, but once you’re inside and the machines are running, you don't notice it as much. We have a small corner for tea where we take breaks when the mid-afternoon slump hits. The walls are covered in sample swatches and notes we’ve pinned up over the months. Sometimes the power flickers when the weather gets bad, but we just wait it out and get back to it. It’s not a corporate setup with polished floors; it’s a working space where things actually get made. We mostly just focus on what’s on the tables in front of us. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know how the others like to work. It’s just how things go here at the Miller Stop, day in and day out, making sure the shirts and pants are sorted. When the sun goes down, the lights inside make the place look a bit warmer, which is nice during the longer shifts.
