Our office for Vestas Wind Technology (India) Pvt Ltd is situated in Pollachi, which is a really green part of the Coimbatore district. We are at 2/9 Alagappa Layout in the Mahalingapuram area. It is a very peaceful spot compared to the big cities, with lots of coconut trees around and a slower pace of life. The office is basically a house that has been turned into a workspace, so it has a very cozy and lived-in feel to it. We have a few rooms where we keep our computers and all the technical manuals for the wind turbines. The birds outside make a lot of noise in the mornings, which is actually quite nice to listen to while we work. Sometimes we have to drive out to the actual sites, but this layout is where we do all our planning and phone calls. The furniture is a bit old-fashioned and the floors are stone, which helps keep the place cool during the summer months. We don't have a big fancy sign out front, just the address on the gate. The people working here have been together for a long time, so we know each other's habits well. We usually have our lunch outside on the porch if the weather isn't too hot. It’s a very practical way to run things without any unnecessary fluff or corporate pressure.
