We’ve been here on N. H. Road for quite some time now. Being right in the middle of Ukkadam near the Town Hall means things stay busy from the moment we open the shutters. You can hear the trains from the nearby railway station throughout the day, and on festival days, the crowds heading toward the Koniammam Temple make the whole street feel alive. We started Vanraj & Company as a small family thing and it just sort of stayed that way. Most of the people who walk in are locals or folks who just stepped off a train and need something quick. Our building isn't fancy or anything. It’s got that old-style feel where things are a bit cramped but everything has its place. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but honestly, we’re usually too busy with the day-to-day stuff to worry about how the place looks from the outside. We deal with whatever comes our way, mostly just helping out the people in the neighborhood with what they need. Sometimes the traffic outside is a bit much, especially with the buses and the noise from the station, but you get used to it after a few years. It’s a good spot to be in, right at the heart of things. We just keep our heads down and get the work done, making sure we stay on top of the orders that pile up on the desk.
