Urban Village

Our place is at 99, III-Street in Sivaji Colony. It’s a tucked-away spot that feels more like a home than a corporate office. We like it that way because the name Urban Village isn't just something we picked out of a hat; it’s how we think about the spaces we work on. Sivaji Colony is a neighborhood where people actually know each other, and our office fits right into that. There’s usually a pot of tea going and someone sitting at the main table sketching out an idea. We don't have a receptionist or any fancy lobby. You just walk in and you're right in the middle of where we work. There are samples of tiles and paint swatches scattered around, and the walls are pinned with sketches of houses and small buildings. We spend a lot of time talking to people about what they need for their homes. It’s more about listening than anything else. Sometimes the neighborhood kids play out on the street, and we can hear them while we’re trying to figure out a floor plan. It keeps us grounded in the real world. We aren't trying to build skyscrapers; we’re just trying to make good spaces for people to live in. It’s simple, honest work that we do right here on III-Street. We’ve been part of the colony for a while now and don't plan on moving. It's just a good place to be.
