Ramya Nursery

If you head down Thadagam Road and get close to the TVS Nagar Bus Stop, you’ll find us at Ramya Nursery. We are right at No. 42. Most of our day is spent outside, honestly. There is always something that needs watering or some pots that need moving around. It gets quite dusty being so close to the road, especially when the big buses pull up at the stop nearby. You can hear the engines and the people waiting for their ride all day long. We started this because we like working with our hands and seeing things grow from nothing. The soil gets under your fingernails and stays there, no matter how much you scrub. We don't have a big fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just rows of plants and some bags of fertilizer sitting out. When it rains, we have to scramble to move the delicate ones under the shed. It’s hard work, especially when the sun is beating down on Thadagam Road in the afternoon. We usually have tea together in the small shade area during the break. People stop by on their way home from work since the bus stop is right there. We just try to keep everything green and alive. It’s a simple way to spend the day, even if my back hurts by the time we close up.
