Topslip Tourism

We are located up on the first floor of Arthi Complex at number 56. It is on Palakkad Main Road, right across from NGM College. The office isn't much to look at, just a couple of old desks and a bunch of maps we’ve taped to the walls over the years. We spend our days answering the phone and trying to help folks plan their trips up to Topslip or around the hills. It gets pretty loud because of the traffic on the main road, and when the students from the college come out, the whole area is packed. We aren't a big travel agency with fancy brochures. Most of what we know comes from living here and visiting these places ourselves. We spend a lot of time calling guest houses and checking if the forest roads are open. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and wait, chatting with whoever is in the office. The stairs coming up here are a little narrow and steep, so you have to be careful. We keep a big ledger to write down all the bookings because computers can be a bit unreliable sometimes. It’s a lot of talking on the phone and writing things down by hand. We just want to help people get where they’re going without too much trouble. It is a local business and we like it that way. Most days are busy but we enjoy the talk.
