Ars Poly Inndustries

Being on Kumaran Road in Tirupur means there is always noise. We are tucked in near the old bus stand. Our building is an old one, and you can hear the machines humming from the street. We do poly work here. It’s mostly manufacturing small plastic items and bags for the textile shops around town. Tirupur is famous for clothes, so there is always a need for packaging. We have a few guys working the machines. It gets really hot inside during the afternoon, and the smell of the plastic is something you have to get used to. We don't have a showroom or anything like that. It’s just a factory floor with stacks of finished goods waiting to be picked up. We’ve been at this for a while now. The equipment is a bit loud and sometimes a belt breaks and we have to fix it ourselves. We aren't some huge industry with a board of directors. It’s just a local business making things that people use once and then throw away. We try to keep the orders moving so the shops don't have to wait. It’s a busy life. Most days we are here late into the evening just to get the last of the poly out. It’s just how it goes in a place like Tirupur.
