Thamarai Builders

Thamarai Builders is located over at 61, Rudrappa Nagar in Udumalpet. It’s just a regular office where we handle all the construction stuff. Most mornings start with a cup of tea and looking over the notes from the day before. We spend a lot of time out at the different sites, making sure the walls are going up right and the materials are there. It gets pretty dusty out there, so my shoes are always a mess. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of people; it’s just a small group of us trying to get the work done. The office has a few desks and some old files stacked up in the corner. People from the neighborhood sometimes walk in just to chat or ask about a small repair. We don’t have a fancy waiting room or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably see us on the phone with suppliers or looking at a blueprint spread out on the table. Udumalpet is a decent place to work, even when it gets really hot in the afternoons. We just keep our heads down and focus on the bricks and mortar. There’s always something to fix or a new problem to solve with the plumbing or the roof. We just take it day by day and try to finish what we started. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. Every day is a bit different, but it always involves a lot of sweat and being on our feet.
