If you head down Pollachi Main Road in Sundrapuram, you’ll find us at No. 274/5. That’s where Vm. Tex And Vcee Dress Maker is set up. We have several sewing machines lined up and there’s always the sound of needles clicking. The space is filled with rolls of fabric and bags of thread in every color you can think of. We do a lot of tailoring and garment work here. It gets a bit cramped when we have a big order to finish, but we manage. My hands are usually stained with chalk or have a few small pin pricks by the end of the day. We don’t have a fancy boutique feel. It’s more of a working shop where things get made. We take measurements, cut the cloth, and sit at the machines for hours. The traffic outside on the main road is always loud, but we’ve gotten used to the trucks rumbling past. We started this because we knew how to sew and there was a need for it in Sundrapuram. People bring us their clothes to be fixed or fabric to be turned into something new. We don't promise anything other than doing the job the way it's supposed to be done. Sometimes we stay late when the deadlines are tight. It’s just me and the other tailors working under the tube lights. We like seeing the finished product.
