Sun Mural Arts

You can find us at No 15 on Sowripalayam Main Road. We are right across from the Udayampalyam bus stop and not far from the Puliyakulam Vinayagar Temple. Because we are near the temple and the bus stop, there are always people around. Our shop is usually messy with paints, brushes, and sketches lying everywhere. There’s a smell of turpentine and oil that never really goes away. We spend our days working on different designs and pieces of art. Sometimes we are painting on boards and other times we are planning out larger murals. Our clothes usually have a few paint stains on them by the end of the week. It’s not a clean, white gallery. It’s more of a workshop where things actually get made. People stop by while waiting for their bus to look at what we’re doing through the window. We have stacks of finished work in the back and half-done projects on the easels. The light in the morning is the best for working, so we try to get a lot done early. We don't have a computer system for our work, we just draw everything by hand first. It’s a lot of standing and reaching, and our backs often ache by the evening. We just enjoy the process of seeing a blank space get filled with color. It’s a simple life focused on the work we do. We like the creative chaos.
