Running Sri Lakshman Agencies keeps us pretty busy most days. We are located at 384, Kongu Main Road, which is right in the middle of everything in Kongu Nagar. Being in the Appachi Nagar area means there's always something going on outside our door. The shop isn't anything too big, but we manage to fit quite a lot of stock inside. Most of our time is spent checking lists and moving boxes around. The morning starts with a cup of tea while we open the shutters. It’s a bit noisy because of the traffic on Kongu Main Road, but you get used to it after a few years. We know most of the people who walk past or stop by. It’s a local place. Sometimes the deliveries are late and that messes up the schedule, but we just deal with it. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but who has the time for that when there are orders to fill? We keep the records in big ledgers and sometimes on the old computer in the corner. It’s not the most modern way of working, but it works for us. We just try to get the day’s work done before the evening rush starts. People stop by on their way home from work. It’s just a regular agency life here in this part of town. There is always some dust from the road, but we sweep it out every morning. It feels good to finally close up at night.
