Smt Castings

We are over on Veerapandi Road, specifically at No.4 in the Jothipuram area. Smt Castings has been here for a while, and the place definitely shows it. The foundry work is messy and hot, there’s no way around that. We spend our days around the molds and the furnace. It’s heavy work, and your hands are always dirty by the end of the shift. The road outside is usually quiet compared to the city, which is nice when we step out for a breath of air. We have a rhythm to the day, starting with the prep work before it gets too hot. Jothipuram is a bit of a trek for some, but it suits us fine. The building is old, made of brick and metal sheets that rattle when the wind picks up. We have a small room where we keep the finished pieces before they go out. It’s not a high-tech setup. We rely on what we’ve learned over the years about how the metal behaves. Sometimes a casting doesn't come out right and we have to start over. That's just part of the grind. We don't have many visitors except for the delivery guys. It’s a plain, hardworking environment. We focus on the daily tasks and making sure the furnace is running okay. It’s just a group of us doing what needs to be done every day on Veerapandi Road.
