We are based at No. 22 Balagi Garden in Coimbatore, which is a city that knows a lot about textiles. Our building isn't very large but it’s where all the main decisions happen for the clothing side of things. There is usually the sound of sewing machines or people moving boxes in the background. Coimbatore can get really warm, so we keep the fans going all day while we look over different fabric swatches and patterns. We started this because we knew the clothing trade well. It’s not about being a big brand for us, it’s just about getting the garments made correctly. Sometimes the colors don't come out quite right in the first batch, and we have to spend the afternoon figuring out why. The office is pretty simple, with some racks of samples and a few desks piled with invoices. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy slogans. It is mostly just family and long-term workers who show up and do their part. We like being in the Balagi Garden area because it is easy for the trucks to come in and load up the finished goods. There is a lot of competition in this town, but we just focus on what is sitting on our own cutting tables. It’s hard work and your hands get tired by the end of the shift, but it’s what we know how to do. Every week we try to clear the backlog before the Sunday break.
