Shreyas

Down at No. 25 Poonthottam Nagar in Saravanampatty, that’s where we are. It’s becoming a busy part of the city now, but our little corner stays pretty much the same as it was years ago. We go by the name Shreyas. It’s a small operation. We don’t have a massive warehouse or a lobby with a receptionist. When you walk in, you’re likely to see us actually working on whatever is on the table that day. We handle various tasks, mostly related to the local trade. The sun hits the front of the building pretty hard in the morning, so we keep the shutters halfway down to stay cool. We’ve got a couple of old desks and a lot of filing cabinets that have seen better days. It’s just us doing our thing. We don’t have a website that’s updated every day or a social media person. If someone wants to talk to us, they usually just drop by or give us a call on the landline. We like the pace here. It’s steady. We know the other shop owners on the street and we look out for each other. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. It’s a simple life and a simple business. We just do the work that’s in front of us without making any big fuss about it.
