Our place, Sharp Pumps Pvt Ltd, is tucked away in Sharp Nagar, Kalappatti. It’s a quiet enough area until we get the testing rigs going. We spend a lot of time looking at motors and impellers. Water pumps are what we know. People around here need them for all sorts of things, from small gardens to bigger industrial setups. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world, just a reliable one that folks in Kalappatti can come to. The workshop has piles of castings and copper wire everywhere. It’s a bit disorganized if you aren't used to it, but we know where everything is. My father started this, and now we just keep it going day by day. We have a few benches where we assemble everything by hand. Sometimes a part doesn't fit right and we have to sand it down or try a different casting. It’s slow work sometimes. We don't have a marketing team or a fancy website. If someone needs a pump, they usually just hear about us from a neighbor or a local contractor. We try to keep the prices fair because we know how it is for small businesses. When the rains come, we get really busy because everyone’s pump seems to break at once. We just do our best to fix them or build new ones as fast as we can. It’s simple work but it’s what we do.
