Down at 235 - E, Thadagam Road, things stay pretty active from early morning. Schumak Equipment (India) Pvt. Ltd. is located in the Somayampalayam area, and if you know the post office there, you know where we are. It’s a part of town that feels a bit more open than the city center, but the road out front still gets plenty of traffic. We spend our days around machinery and various pieces of equipment that industries need to keep their floors running. The workshop area has that smell of cut metal and cold grease, which is something you just get used to after a week or two. Our staff isn't wearing suits; we’re usually in work clothes that can handle a bit of dirt. Sometimes we’re out back checking a crate that just arrived, and other times we’re sitting at the wooden desks trying to make sense of a new technical manual. The sun hits the front of the building quite hard in the midday, so we keep the shutters halfway down to stay cool. It’s a straightforward operation where we focus on the hardware in front of us. We don’t spend much time on fancy talk or decorating the place. If a machine needs looking at or a specific part needs to be found for a client, that’s what we do. It’s just how we’ve always run things here on Thadagam Road. We just keep our heads down and get the equipment ready.
