Saranya Mehndi Art

Our place is at number 21 in Gandhi Nagar, which is over in the Sidco Post area of Coimbatore. Most people know it as Sundarapuram. We do mehndi work here for all sorts of occasions, mostly for weddings or festivals like Diwali. It’s not really a big shop, more like a small space where we sit and draw the designs on hands and feet. We use local henna cones and take our time with the patterns. Sometimes we go to people's houses if they have a big event, but mostly we work from here. The neighborhood is fairly quiet compared to the city center. We’ve been doing this for a while now and have a lot of different designs we can show you on paper. It takes a bit of patience to sit still while the mehndi dries, but we have some chairs for people to relax in. We don't have a big sign outside, so you have to look for the house number in Gandhi Nagar. Most of our work comes from people telling their friends about us. We try to keep our schedules flexible because people often need mehndi done at odd hours during the wedding season. It is just a simple home-based business where we focus on the art. We don’t do hair or makeup, just the mehndi designs. It’s what we know how to do best. We usually have someone here throughout the day to talk about designs.
