We’ve been here at Narayana Guru Road for a good while now. Our spot is right near the KTVR Hospital in Saibaba Colony, so it’s pretty easy for folks to find us when they need to talk about lifts. Kamai Elevators Pvt. Ltd. isn’t some massive faceless thing; it’s just us working out of numbers 48/132 and 133. Most days, the place is a bit noisy with the sound of parts moving or people talking through schedules. Elevators are funny things because nobody thinks about them until they stop working, and that's usually when our phones start ringing off the hook. We spend a lot of time looking at blueprints and checking cables or control panels. It gets greasy sometimes, and the heat in the summer doesn't help much when you're stuck in a shaft. We don't really do fancy speeches here. If someone comes in, they usually just want to know how long a repair will take or what kind of setup would fit their small apartment building. We try to keep things simple and just get the job done without too much fuss. There’s always a cup of tea going somewhere in the office, and the traffic outside on the main road is basically our background music. It’s a busy life, but it keeps us going. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but we’re still right here in the same spot.
