Rms Die Castings

Our workshop is at 6-C, Akg Nagar, near the Uppilipalayam post office. It’s a neighborhood where people know their neighbors, and we’ve been part of it for a while. Die casting is what we do, which means the place is usually pretty warm because of the furnaces and the molten metal. You get used to the heat after a few hours, though. We have several machines lined up, and the sound of them cycling is the background noise of our lives. It’s a bit messy with the oil and the scrap metal on the floor, but we try to keep it organized enough to work efficiently. We aren't a high-tech lab. We’re a casting shop. People bring us molds or designs, and we turn them into solid metal parts. There’s a lot of hand-finishing involved, too. We sit at the benches and file down the rough edges until they’re just right. It’s a bit of a craft, really. We don’t have a marketing department or a fancy logo on the wall. We just have our reputation among the local businesses who need parts made. Sometimes we sit outside for a tea break and watch the traffic go by the post office when the machines are cooling down. It’s a steady life. We do the work, we pack it up, and we move on to the next job. Most of us have been working these same machines for years and know exactly how they sound when they're running right.
