Velmurugan Tyres

You can find us over on Sanganoor Main Road, right next to the IOB Bank in Rathinapuri. At Velmurugan Tyres, the day usually starts with us rolling out some of the bigger tyres to the front to show what we have. It’s a physical job and our hands are usually stained with black rubber and grease within the first hour. The road outside is always loud with the sound of trucks and buses, but we’re used to it. We spend most of our time out in the bay, changing tyres or fixing punctures for whoever stops by. It’s not a very clean environment, but that’s just the nature of working with vehicles. We have a few old chairs for people to sit on while they wait, but most folks just stand around and talk to us while we work. We don’t use any fancy sales talk; we just show people the wear on their tread and tell them what their options are. Sometimes we have a lot of people show up at once and we have to work fast to keep everyone moving. The shop isn’t much to look at, just a concrete floor and some heavy-duty tools, but it serves its purpose. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and we know a lot of the local drivers. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do, and we just keep at it day after day.
