Mohan And Co is located right on No. 1278 Rangai Gowder Street, which stays crowded almost all day long. If you know this street, you know how hard it is to find a parking spot. We have been working out of this building for years, and the walls have seen a lot of people come and go. It’s mostly just us handling the stock and writing down accounts in the big ledgers. The wooden desk we use has been around since we started, and it’s got a few scratches here and there. We deal with all sorts of items, and the back room is usually filled to the ceiling with boxes. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what a customer wants because things get shifted around during the morning rush. The noise from the street is always there, horns honking and people shouting, but you get used to it after a week. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the afternoon slump. Most of our regulars are from the nearby shops or people who have been living in this area for decades. They come in, chat for a bit about the weather or the prices, and then we get back to work. It’s a simple way of doing things, no computers doing everything for us, just hands-on work. We make sure the shutter is down on time, but often someone knocks right as we’re leaving.
