Raj Textiles has been around for a good while here in Coimbatore. Our place is at 39/30 A East Street in Singanallur. This city is famous for its cloth and thread, and we are just one small part of that tradition. We don't run a massive factory with thousands of looms. It’s a more modest operation where we focus on getting the fabric right. Most of us grew up around textiles, so it’s just what we know. The air in the shop always smells a bit like cotton and dye. It’s a busy place with a lot of noise from the machines, but we’re used to it. We deal with various types of cloth and supply a few local shops and tailors. We aren't interested in being the biggest in the state. We just want to keep making decent textiles that people can use. Singanallur is a good area with a lot of history in this trade. We see the same faces every day, and we like it that way. Sometimes a batch doesn't come out perfect, and we have to start over, but that’s part of the craft. There’s a lot of competition around here, but we just focus on our own work. We’re just local people making fabric in a town that’s been doing it for generations. It’s steady, honest work that keeps us going. We’ve learned that patience is key in this business, especially when things get quite busy.
