Out here at No. 2 in Sankottaiyya Colony, things stay pretty noisy. We are right on Saradha Mill Road in Podanur, which is a place that feels like it’s always moving. Our work is mostly focused on environmental systems and engineering bits, so there’s always a pump or some metal part lying around on a workbench. It’s not the kind of place where you’d wear a suit. Most of us have grease on our hands by lunchtime. We spend a lot of time looking at drawings and trying to figure out why a particular system isn't filtering water like it’s supposed to. It’s practical work, and sometimes it's frustrating when a part doesn't fit, but that's just how engineering goes. The office is tucked away in the colony, so it feels a bit more like a neighborhood business than a big industrial plant. We know the neighbors and they know us. We’ve got a small team, and we usually just sit around the main table to talk through what needs to be fixed for the next day. Sometimes the rain makes the road outside a bit of a mess, but we still get our deliveries out. We don’t spend much time on fancy letters or big meetings. We’d rather just be out in the workshop getting things sorted so the equipment actually works for the people who bought it. It’s just how we do things here every day of the week.
