Pharma

Our place is on Anna Street, right in the heart of Karamadai. It’s number 23. If you know the Coimbatore district, you know it’s a bit quieter out here compared to the city, which suits us just fine. Pharma is what we call ourselves, though it's a very simple setup. We’ve got a small storefront and some storage in the back for our supplies. Most of the people who come by are neighbors or people from the surrounding villages who need something. We don't have a website or fancy computers doing everything for us. It’s mostly ledger books and hand-written notes. The building gets a bit hot in the afternoons, so we usually have the fan going full blast. We just stock what people need and make sure the shelves aren't empty. It’s a slow pace of life here. We talk to the people who come in, ask about their families, and get them what they’re looking for. There’s no big corporate strategy behind it. We just open up in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. Anna Street is a nice place to be. We’ve been here long enough that we know everyone’s name and what they usually need. We don't try to compete with the big chains in the city. We just stay here and do our work for the local community. It is a good way to live and work.
