We are located at number 322 on Pollachi Main Road in Coimbatore. If you drive down that way, you’ll see plenty of places like ours. We do metal castings here. It’s a heavy, hot kind of job that requires a lot of patience. The foundry floor is always covered in sand because that’s what we use for the molds. When the metal is melting in the furnace, the whole place glows and you can feel the heat all the way from the street. We aren’t a big corporation with layers of management. It’s mostly just the family and a crew of workers who have been with us for a long time. We wear heavy boots and old clothes because they’re going to get ruined anyway by the soot and sparks. There’s a lot of manual labor involved in moving the molds and cleaning up the finished pieces. We don't use much fancy software to track things. Most stuff is noted down in ledgers or on chalkboards near the furnace. Coimbatore has always been a place for people who make things with their hands, and we fit right into that. Sometimes the rain leaks through a bit of the roof, but we just move the stuff out of the way and keep going. We don’t make a big deal out of things. We just pour the metal, wait for it to cool, and start again the next day.
