Nikkans Textile

Nikkans Textile is out in the Velampalayam area of Tirupur, specifically at Amarjothi Garden. Despite the name, it’s more of a busy textile hub than a quiet garden. We have a modest setup here where we deal with all sorts of knitted fabrics and garments. This part of the world is famous for textiles, so we are just one of many small businesses doing our part in the chain. Our workspace is pretty simple—lots of tables for sorting and checking pieces, and a few sewing machines for samples. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to answer the phones with a fancy script. Usually, it's just one of us picking up while we're in the middle of checking a batch of shirts. The air is always warm, and you can hear the sound of the industry all around us. We spend a lot of time looking at thread counts and dye lots to make sure everything looks okay. It's a lot of manual work, and our hands are usually busy with fabric from morning till evening. We know most of the other folks around Velampalayam, and it’s a tight-knit community of workers and owners. We just focus on getting the bundles ready and making sure they get on the right truck for the next stage of the process. It's a humble way to work, but it keeps us busy and the business moving forward.
