M/S Somac Group International, Doha

Even though the name says Doha, we are actually based here in Coimbatore, specifically at 3, Srikanth Nagar in Thudiyalur. It's a nice enough area, a bit away from the main city chaos. We’ve been at this address for quite some time now. The office is really just a house that we’ve converted into a workspace. It feels more comfortable that way for everyone. We do a lot of international coordination, but the day-to-day work happens right here in Tamil Nadu. Our team is small, just a handful of us sitting around desks with our laptops and phones. We spend a lot of time on emails and calls because of the international side of things. Outside, the neighborhood is pretty quiet, which helps when we need to focus on complex logistics. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to wait a bit or use the backup, but that's just life here. We don't have any fancy receptionists or lobby areas. If you stop by, you’ll probably just see us working through a stack of papers or talking to someone on the phone about a shipment. It’s a very grounded way of running a business. We like the local vibe of Thudiyalur. It’s home for us. We just keep our heads down and handle the logistics and group operations as they come in. It’s a steady pace, and we prefer it that way. No need for anything more complex.
