You can find Lakshmi Ceramics at No. 321 Mettupalayam Road. We’re right across from Murugan Mills, which is a big landmark that helps people find us. We’ve been here for quite some time, selling tiles and ceramic items to folks in the neighborhood and beyond. The shop is filled with rows of samples, from floor tiles to bathroom walls. It can get a bit overwhelming for customers because there are so many colors and patterns to choose from. We just let them walk around and look at their own pace. Sometimes we have to move heavy boxes of tiles when an order is ready, which is good exercise if nothing else. The dust from the road outside comes in sometimes, so we spend a fair bit of time cleaning the displays. Mettupalayam Road is always noisy with traffic, but you get used to it after a few weeks of working here. We aren't a big chain store, just a local spot where you can get what you need for a renovation. Most people come in with a rough idea of what they want, and we show them what’s currently in the warehouse. It’s satisfying when someone finds the right look for their home. We don't try to be anything we're not. It’s just a tile shop where we try to keep things organized and help out where we can.
