Mayiruya Travels

Mayiruya Travels is situated right at the front side of the TTC Bus Stand in Gandhipuram. You can’t really miss us if you are walking toward the buses. It’s a very active spot. There are always people shouting for passengers and the sound of horns blowing. Our office is a simple one. We have a wooden desk that’s been with us since we started. There’s a clock on the wall that’s always five minutes fast, but we leave it that way so we are never late for anything. I spend most of my day sitting by the front window watching the crowds go by. Coimbatore is a hot city, especially in the middle of the day, so we keep a couple of water bottles on the desk for anyone who comes in feeling thirsty. We don't have a professional secretary or anything like that. I answer the phone myself and write down the details on whatever paper I have handy. Sometimes we have to shout to be heard over the buses outside. It’s just the nature of being at the TTC stand. The floor is a bit dusty because of all the foot traffic, but we sweep it every evening before we close. We don’t do much in the way of advertising. Being right at the front of the bus stand is enough for people to find us. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We just get on with it.
