M. V. Eye Care Centre

M. V. Eye Care Centre is located at 10 Kalidas Road. It’s the same building we’ve been in for quite a while now. The entrance has a few steps that can be a bit tricky if you aren't looking, so we usually tell people to watch their feet. Inside, the walls are a light shade of blue that’s supposed to be calming, though it’s started to peel a little near the ceiling. We have a regular routine here. The first person in turns on the lights and the machines, and we start seeing people shortly after. The street outside is fairly narrow, so if two cars try to pass at the same time, there is usually a lot of honking. We have a collection of old magazines on the table that people flip through while they wait for their eyes to dilate. The staff stays busy with the paperwork and keeping the lenses clean. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we don't mind it. We know the people who live in the apartments nearby and they often stop in just to say hello or ask a quick question. We don't have a big fancy sign out front, just a simple one that lets you know where we are. It’s a practical environment. We do the vision checks, write out the prescriptions, and make sure everyone gets what they need before they head back out into the sun to get on with their afternoon.
