L.Suryanarayan ( Auditor)

L.Suryanarayan is my name, and I work as an auditor from my home in Sulur. My address is 7/3, Karunanithi Nagar. I have a small room set aside for my work, filled with stacks of files and tax papers. I’ve been doing this for a lot of years now. People from the neighborhood and other parts of Sulur come to see me when they need help with their accounts. It is not a big corporate firm. It is just me sitting at my wooden desk with a calculator and a few pens. The room is usually quiet, except for the sound of the traffic on the road outside. I spend most of my day looking at numbers and trying to make sense of all the receipts people bring me. My eyes get quite tired by the end of the day. Sometimes I have a cup of tea with a client and we talk about things happening in the town before we get down to the business part. It’s a very local way of doing things. I don't use any fancy computer systems if I can help it. I prefer writing things down on paper. The neighborhood is a nice place to live, and I’ve been here so long that I feel part of the furniture. I just do my work honestly and try to help people keep their records straight. That is all there is to it for me.
