Laurus Refractories & Minerals

If you head over to Vellaikinar Post and look for Plot No. 12/5-A1 in Periyathottam, that’s where you’ll find us. Laurus Refractories & Minerals is basically an industrial spot. We deal with minerals and refractory materials, which is pretty much as dusty and heavy as it sounds. It’s not the kind of place where you’d wear a suit. Most of the time, we’re covered in some kind of grit from the materials we handle. We’ve been at this plot for a while now, and it’s become a second home for the guys working here. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or slogans. We just get the minerals sorted, packed, and sent out to the people who need them for their furnaces or construction projects. It’s hard work, and the sun can be really hot out here in Periyathottam, but we just get on with it. Sometimes the machinery acts up and we have to spend half the day fixing it, but that’s just part of the job. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the region; we just want to do our work and go home at the end of the shift. The yard is usually full of bags and piles of raw stuff, and it’s loud when the trucks are loading. It’s just a regular local business doing regular work. We just stay focused on the minerals and refractories and try to get everything shipped out before the day ends.
