Sri Balaji Plastics

The machines at No. 1/414 Kothari Nagar make a lot of noise, so you can usually hear us before you see the sign. Being in K. Vadamadurai Po, we’re a bit out of the main city, which is nice because there’s more space for the raw material bags. At Sri Balaji Plastics, the air always feels a bit heavy because of the heat from the extruders. We’ve got these big sacks of plastic granules stacked up nearly to the roof, and it feels like a maze sometimes. Most of our day is spent watching the hoppers and making sure the molds are coming out clean. We don't have a big corporate office, just a small corner with a table and two chairs where we handle the paperwork. The floor is concrete and pretty rough on the boots, but it’s easy to sweep up at the end of the shift. We’ve had the same crew for a while, so everyone knows their job without being told. Sometimes the power fluctuates and we have to restart everything, which is a real pain. We usually bring our own tiffins and eat together under the shade of the tree out front during the break. It’s a hot, sweaty job, but there's a certain rhythm to it that feels right. We just focus on keeping the machines running and getting the orders loaded onto the small trucks that come by. There's always a stack of rejected parts in the corner that we have to regrind eventually.
