Our place is out on Mtp Road in Periyanaickenpalayam. We are quite close to the Pricol factory, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find us. The road is always packed with trucks and buses going toward Coimbatore, so there is a lot of dust and noise outside. Inside the building, it’s a bit different. We have several rooms set up for patient care and some office space for the administrative side of things. The staff usually gets in early to start the day. There is a lot of tea drinking in the break room before the first appointments arrive. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at computer screens, managing the records. The tiles in the hallway are a bit worn down from people walking back and forth over the years. We have a small parking area out front, but it fills up fast on Tuesday mornings for some reason. It’s not a very fancy building, just a practical one that serves the local area and the workers from the nearby industries. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which is just part of living and working around here. We know the neighbors and the tea stall guy nearby quite well. It’s a steady kind of life at the health care center for all of us.
