Isha Foundation

We are based out of 140/96-A on R.V.K. Street in Coimbatore. It's in the Thirumalainaickenpalayam area, which is a bit of a mouthful to say if you aren't from around here. Most people just know it through Jothipuram. The place is tucked away on a side street. It’s not on a main highway, so it stays relatively calm. We have a few rooms here where the work happens. The floors are stone, which stays cool even when the sun is beating down outside. There are a few trees around the property that give some shade to the motorcycles parked out front. We start our day early before it gets too hot. It is a simple setup with basic tables and chairs. We don't have fancy decor or artwork on the walls. Mostly just calendars and a few notes pinned up. People from the nearby villages often pass by. We have a small tap outside where workers sometimes wash their hands. Inside, the fans hum all day long. We keep track of everything in big ledgers and on a couple of older computers. It’s a very grounded atmosphere. We don't use much technology beyond what is necessary. Lunch is usually spent sitting together and sharing food from our carriers. It's just a regular workplace in a quiet corner of Coimbatore where we focus on the tasks at hand. We keep some spare umbrellas near the door for the sudden rains.
