Indo Shell Mould Limited is tucked away at A-9 in the Sidco Industrial Estate. If you know the estate, you know it’s a maze of different sheds and factories all doing their own thing. Our place is no different. We focus on shell moulding, which is a process that involves a lot of heat and sand. It’s a messy business, to be honest. You can’t really keep your clothes clean when you’re working here. The machines have been around for a while, and they have their own personalities—you have to know exactly how to handle them or they’ll give you trouble. We aren't a corporate office with a lobby or a receptionist. Usually, you just walk in and find someone near the furnaces or the cooling racks. The days are long, especially when we have a big batch to get through. We talk about the work, the weather, and whatever else is happening in the estate over our tea. It’s a straightforward environment. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or glossy brochures because we’re too busy actually making the moulds. There’s a certain rhythm to the pouring and the setting that you only get after being here for years. It’s not the kind of job everyone wants to do, but it’s what we know. We just stay focused on the metal and the molds and try to get everything finished before the shift ends each day.
