Our branch is situated at 5/52, Indira Nagar, on the 6th Street near Jai Nagar Post, right off Kangayam Road in Tirupur. Being in an industrial town like this, everything feels like it’s moving at a fast clip. The air outside is often dusty from all the trucks moving goods, so we try to keep the doors shut as much as we can. Inside, it’s just the usual office setup. We’ve got the counters, the computers that sometimes take a minute to wake up in the morning, and the stacks of ledgers that we still use for some things. It’s a busy place. People come in from the textile units nearby, usually looking a bit tired but ready to get their business done. We spend a lot of time counting out notes and checking signatures. It’s repetitive, but it’s the job. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but nobody really has the time to think about that. We have a small water dispenser that everyone uses, and the floor is a bit worn down in the spots where people stand the most. We don’t have any big slogans on the walls, just the stuff the bank tells us we have to display. It’s a practical environment for a practical town. When we finish up and step out onto 6th Street, the evening air is finally starting to cool down a bit. It’s a long day, but it’s okay.
