Hindustan Die Castings

If you head down Athipalayam Road in Chinnavedampatti, you will eventually find us at S. F. No. 62/2A1. It is a bit of a long address to write down on an envelope, but we have been here in the Ganapathy area long enough that most local people just know the turnoff by heart. Hindustan Die Castings isn't a big flashy operation with a lot of glass windows. It is mostly just us and the machines and that heavy smell of molten metal that stays in your clothes. Die casting is a messy job, and our hands usually show it by the time we head home. There is always a thin layer of dust on the high windows, and the wall fans never seem to move quite enough air when it gets really hot outside. We do a lot of repetitive work throughout the week, but it is what we know how to do. We check the parts as they come out, pack them into crates, and get them ready for whenever the transport trucks show up. The road right outside can get pretty crowded with tractors and motorbikes, so getting things in and out takes a bit of patience. We have a small desk tucked away for the paperwork, but mostly we are standing up near the furnaces or the cooling racks. We don't have a big reception area for visitors. If you come by, you just walk in and find us.
